A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized at Sarupathar College on 17th September 2026. The camp was jointly conceptualized and executed by the Red Ribbon Club (RRC), National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit, NSS and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sarupathar College. The primary objective of the initiative was to address the critical demand for blood in the district, spread awareness regarding voluntary donation, and foster a sense of social responsibility among students and staff. The event was held in technical collaboration with the medical team from the Blood Centre, SKK Hospital, Golaghat. The blood donation camp commenced at 11:00 AM with a formal inaugural ceremony. The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Prapti Thakur, Principal of Sarupathar College.
The entire donation process was conducted under strict medical supervision to ensure safety, hygiene, and standard operational protocols. The camp was supervised by Mrs. Biju Bora, District Officer, Blood Bank, SKK Hospital, Golaghat, along with a dedicated team of doctors, laboratory technicians, and nursing staff. Prior to donation, every volunteer underwent a mandatory health screening, including blood pressure check, hemoglobin estimation, and weight verification, to determine eligibility.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, NCC cadets, faculty members, and non-teaching staff of Sarupathar College. A total of 25 units of blood were successfully collected during the camp. The collected blood units were safely secured and transported by the medical team to the Blood Centre at SKK Hospital, Golaghat, to replenish the facility's reserves for emergency patient care. Following the donation drive, refreshments and certificates of appreciation were distributed to all successful donors. The event concluded with a vote of thanks extended by the organizing committee, expressing deep gratitude to Principal Dr. Prapti Thakur for her leadership, coordinators Dr. Sanjay Rizal and Sandhan Hazarika, General Secretary Raj Boroo, Mr. Biju Bora and the SKK Hospital medical team for their technical supervision, and all the donors for their selfless contribution toward this lifesaving cause.
